Having been rescued from a garden last night (with the owner’s blessing), this mid 90s survivor Ridgeback 601GS has gone up for sale today. Its components were almost all usable but in desperate need of some TLC and a service which it’s had this morning. It’s a really nice quality bike and the Shimano indexed thumbshifters work like a Swiss watch.

I hope we can find it a new home soon.

Sometimes you plan a day of tidying and sorting and then a delivery of parts comes and you just have to drop everything and jump back on a pet project build.

This one is special.

It’s an ultra light aluminum and carbon fibre frameset from Stephen Roche, Quella wheels (our favourites for single speed builds) and various other lightweight components. It’s going to be quick!
